Ah, the crazy brand and awesome store in Boston–Bodega has collaborated once again this time with probably the highest quality and class model of the shoe brand–the Saucony (Sock a knee) Elite Grid 9000.
First off, I collect mainly Nikes and you can see that by about 85% of my shoe collection, but there are alot of other brands in my collection: Adidas and all of their secret little sub-societies too, Reebok Pumps and some Michael Changs and a few running shoes—oh and how could I forget, I definitely have some Allen Iversons, New Balance—love that they are made in America and the quality is just ridiculous. Ill admit, I missed the boat on them awhile ago and I’m trying to catch up now. I always had a vision as I was collecting Jordans and SB’s and other shoes, before the internet—I know there was such a time in life hahaha, but I always thought of New Balance as strictly a running shoe that was for kind of the 40+ group that whinned about their width of their shoe, so they had to get NB because they have different widths. HAHAH, boy was I way off. New Balance are the nicest, highest quality “major brand” sneaker on the market. Now I’m not talking some Louis Vuitton ‘Dons’ or anything like that, but in the regular everyday sneaker market. I remember the first New Balance that really blew me away was the “Pigeon” NB collab with Jeff Staple and that was just done a few years ago. I started looking at the “Mad Hectic” collabs and the other super tight shoes New Balance has done. The special edition “The Kennedy” by New Balance earlier this year blew people away and sold out instantly. I also have limited Airwalks, one of a kind Kid Robot shoes–who even has heard of Kid Robot producing shoes, I have promo and one of a kind Jordans, Pumps, crazy 35th Anniversary Adidas only found in Tokyo and a ton more, but I am mainly a Nike guy all around. I love mainly every model. But this Saucony really got me thinking a different direction.
Saucony Elite which this shoe is, is a boutique line of high-end trainers made exclusively for the Japanese market. They are made with highest premium materials available and are limited to 300 pairs or less per style. They are designed by the Bodega design group for Saucony worldwide. Bodega is an awesome store in Boston.
NOTE: There are very few larger sizes due to the fact that it is primarily for the Japanese market.
Saucony joined forces with Boston’s finest sneaker store Bodega with the release of a fourth collaboration. This time a pack of the Elite grid 9000 is released a back catalogue Saucony model from the Fall of 1994. Released initially only in Japan this edition features a superior blend of nubuck, ripstop and suede uppers.
